These are the most frequently asked questions by our customers.

Q: How do I pay for my new puppy?
A: We recommend using your credit card or bank card and pay through pay pal. This can be done directly through our website by clicking on the buy now button under your puppy. It’s safe and easy for everyone. We do not accept checks of any kind and will only accept cash in person for puppies picked up at our home. You will receive a receipt with you purchase no matter how you pay. This is to protect us as breeders as well as yourself. There are too many scammers out there and we do everthing to ensure the safty and well being of everyone as well as ourselves.

Q: How can i receive my new pet?
A: Puppies can be shipped though Continental Airlines pet safe program or picked up in person. We do not allow personal shipping companies so please don't ask. Your puppy’s flight time in the U.S. to any major airport is generally 6-8 hours and your pet will be very well taken care of by personalized pet staff with American Airlines. We will charge you for the cost of shipping only nothing over. You can also check out our shipping tab for more shipping information. If you are in the El Paso or San Antonio area please ask us about having your puppy hand delivered to you after purchase.

Q: Will my new puppy be vaccinated?
A: Yes, if your puppy is being shipped it will have its shots recommended for his/her age as well as being de-wormed. If you are going to pick up we will let you decide if you prefer us giving the 1st shot or your vet. We do recommend that you take your new puppy to the vet right away to ensure your puppy is okay after traveling. Traveling can be a traumatic experience on a small and young dog. We also recommend regular vet appointments to ensure your pet lives a very long and healthy life.

Q: What is the best way to contact us?
A: You can call me anytime day or night. I have listed my cell phone # on the contact page. I also will answer my e-mails immediately when they are sent to cruzpuppies1@yahoo.com because they come directly to my cell phone. Even after your purchase of your new pet you can call us with any questions you may have. Our doors are always open and we would love to hear from you.

Q: Why are your dogs registered with the CKC vs. the AKC?
A: We prefer the CKC vs. the AKC because of the personalized service that you will receive by joining the CKC. There are not a lot of differences between the two registries but to us personalized service is everything. With the CKC there is always a friendly and polite representative there to answer any questions you may have or offer you literature to assist you. When it comes to our pets we have thought of everything to ensure you have the best experience possible.

Q: How can i reserve a puppy?
A: You can place a deposit on a puppy of your choice and that deposit will go toward the purchase of that puppy. Deposits are non-refundable because we are losing out on finding out little ones a forever home. Sorry! Puppies do go fast so if you want to reserve a puppy and still need time to think about it than this is the best way. If you change your mind and choose another available puppy listed that is fine as well.

Q: Why do these puppies cost so much?
A:  A lot goes into securing you are getting a healthy puppy. You are making a life time investment when you purchase a pet so why should you get your moneys worth by purchasing a healthy pet from someone who is committed to ensuring you’re getting a healthy puppy. A common question is why these puppies cost so much.

We hand selected each of our parent dogs as puppies to ensure we were getting a healthy pup. We raised each one from puppy to adult to make sure that we know our dogs would be healthy and have a great temperament to provide to there offspring. We keep all of our parent dogs up to date on all vaccinations de-worm, and other preventive medications to assure thier off-springs will be healthy as well. You can’t have healthy puppies if there parent are not healthy. Our parent dogs are given a special diet and never stray from that diet. We do not give our dog’s table food because it’s not safe for dogs. Our dogs only eat Science Diet “Small Bites”. At dinner they get a special treat of lamb and rice mixed with there food. Our parent dogs also receive a multi-vitamin daily as well as nutria-cal when our mommies are expecting to give them a little extra calorie intake during their pregnancy. We have on call vet techs that visit to assist with vaccinations and deliveries if need be. We also follow a higher standard because each of parent dogs as well as puppies are 100% purebred and registered with the CKC.

Our puppies will receive the recommended dose of vaccine and de-worm before leaving our home. Puppies that are shipped by air have to wait till they are at least 9 weeks old and have there first vaccine before traveling. Puppies that are picked up at our home can leave at 5 weeks if they are healthy and we leave the vaccination choices up to the purchaser if they want their current vet to do the vaccine or would like us to do it. The new pet owner can request training or breed information from us. Usually we ask our pet owners if they have other pets in there homes. If the purchaser is a 1st timer than we will provide a guide to owning book to assist in the learning process with your new pet. Chihuahuas are not for everyone and we like pet owners to know exactly what kind of commitment they are making when they purchase from us. We also love hearing back from everyone on how there new addition is doing. Often we post that information on our web site under our sold puppies. They are like are grandkids and are never forgotten.
